On Friday 4th November 2016, Citibank UK volunteers delivered 60 boxes of fresh produce from HelloFresh to the Toynbee Hall Wellbeing Centre as part of the food for London campaign to tackle food wastage.

Each box contained the ingredients to feed two people dinner for three days, which meant we had received and redistributed enough food to feed 120 people dinner for three days. The boxes would normally retail at £36 but Hello Fresh have given out 2,500 boxes across London to be bought on a ‘pay as you feel basis’.

Citibank brought 250 boxes for £10,000, or £40 each. James Bardrick, head of Citi UK, said:

We bought 250 boxes that Citi volunteers have helped distribute over the past couple of days to three charities – Fight for Peace, Toynbee Hall and Brixton Soup Kitchen”

The Cititbank volunteers hauled the boxes inside out of the rain where they were collected by our clients and partner organisations St Hildas East, Sundial Centre and Providence Row Fellow Centre.

Thank you Citibank for kindly donating the food boxes and thank you to volunteers Jacob and Ben.
