LinkAge Plus is a unique outreach, support, and activities based service for anyone over the age of 50 living in the London borough of Tower Hamlets. We aim to help and empower older people to achieve a better quality of life by improving well-being and reducing social isolation.
LinkAge Plus :
- Puts people in contact with organizations that provide services they need
- Provides high-quality support, information, and advice to local residents
- Promotes health and independence
LinkAge Plus is funded by Tower Hamlets Council and Tower Hamlets Clinical Commissioning Group. The service is delivered by five community organizations located across Tower Hamlets; The Sundial Centre (Peabody), Toynbee Hall, Sonali Gardens (St. Hilda’s East Community Centre), Age UK East London and Neighbours in Poplar. Each Centre offers a wide range of activities and a team of outreach workers providing one to one support to older adults.
LinkAge Plus has been in Tower Hamlets for 8 years and the project has flourished and supported many people in the borough. As of 1st April 2014 the management of the project will transfer over to Toynbee Hall, with the 5 partners remaining the same. Tower Hamlets council are committed to the continuing of the project too and so we are happy to say that the service will continue as normal.
